RIM BLACKBERRY STORM

Posted on March 2, 2009.

The RIM Blackberry Storm is a phone that has a big battery and a strong network so that calls and file downloads won’t be dropped, and a  touch screen that lets you physically press a button to ensure your information has gone through. It also includes a GPS system and a camera that takes very sharp pictures. It has a media system for recording and playing music and videos and headphone jacks. Word, Excel, and Powerpoint can all be accessed and used to create and edit files on your blackberry.  Downsides include a cramped though complete QWERTY keyboard and a lousy speakerphone.

Cell phones keep changing and including more and more features. Which of the above features are most important to you? Why? Which can you do without? Do you believe that phones like the Blackberry will soon come to replace personal computers. Why or why not?

well… as far as im concerned… i can definatly live w/o it. i have a phone tht is on the verge of completely falling apart and i love it!

March 3, 2009

i dont think that the blackberry will
replace the personal computer beacuse the
blackberry is too small.

March 3, 2009

some features that are most important to me is the fact that if it is comfortable to me to hold and
type. i also like the fact that it has word and powerpoint .

March 3, 2009

Some of the features that are most important to me woul d probably be camera, because i like taking pictures with my phone, and the microsoft word so i could type essays and stuff away from my home computer.Alhtough, I dont think that phones will replace personal computers, beause the personal computers still have more programs and accessories on them.It will take a while to try to find a way to put all the programs on the smaller phones, and until that happens, i really dont think personal computers will be beaten out by phones :-)
computers because

What features do i like most… I think that having microsoft office, and the media applications including music and video playing, are the best features of this Blackberry.

March 3, 2009

i dnt think tht the type of phone u have really matters. it is simply a staus mark…

  26
March 3, 2009

No I do not believe that any type of phone in the present or the future will replace the PC because the PC does more than access the internet and word, powerpoint, excel. One of these things, is gaming and gaming would be hard to do on a small screen with only your fingers

  18
March 3, 2009

i love my old beat up phone 2!!! ^_^

  20
March 3, 2009

I do not think that phones will overcome having a personal computor. Because the screens are much to small and to cramped!!! I like to see everything closly.

  32
March 3, 2009

Honestly, to me it’s not that cool. if you need all the applications and features, then okay buy it. if not though, just stick with whatever phone you have now, even if it only talks and texts, without the other stuff.

  14
March 3, 2009

15 why do u think that the blackberry will
eventually replace the computer.

  23
March 3, 2009

I agree with number 20 whoever you are.

  18
March 3, 2009

i completely aggree with u #20!!!

  26
March 3, 2009

I dont suspose computars are gettin to the part
were there goin away i dont understand why they
put out cell phones with internet on them when
we have computars do they cost less or what.

  17
March 3, 2009

i do believe that cellphones will eventually replace personal computers because they are more
compact and pourtable. One feature i like is that it has a larg battery because i tend 2 use up my battery from texting all the time

  22
March 3, 2009

i think that the most important feature to me
is the GPS system. It is important to me because
most cell phones don’t have a GPS system and u
can go any where with the GPS. I can do without
the powerpoint,word, and excel. I don’t think
that the Blackberry will soon replace the
personal computer because it might be harder
for u to travel with it on the airplane cause
cellphones do not work on airplanes and if u
have to travel out of the country the phone will
not work so it is better i stick to ur personal
computer.

  34
March 3, 2009

yeah!!! Old beat up phones are the best!!!

  14
March 3, 2009

Phones are getting way to advanced now!!! next thing you know, your phone is going to be implanted in your head

  32
March 3, 2009

The Blackberry is a good phone. come on, we all love a personal computer we can carry in our pockets but honestly, it just to small. We are man! the bigger the better! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43
March 3, 2009

I do not think that blackberries will replace
the computer because alot of people will not
like the look of them. Also what would happen
if your phone does not have service.

  46
March 3, 2009

i think the are both fantabulous

  50
March 3, 2009

uhmm, no.
i disagree with you number 15.
i don’t think the computer will be replaced.
at least not by the blackberry.

  61
March 3, 2009

I dont know which ones would be important it dosen’t really matter to me.
idk.
I could live without the videos and…none other.
yes, because i just do!

March 3, 2009

i agree with 15!!!

The camera is most important to me on the phone
i love taking pictures with my friends and goofing off with the camera(:
Although Computers are a big help i do think phones are going to replace them. They will get popular and easy to bring around

  48
March 3, 2009

i like phones:)

  86
March 3, 2009

this phone is very useful and helpful, i love it.

March 3, 2009

I myself truly dislike the blackberry who needs all that extra junk anyway? these things are truly evil slowly melting our brains with jelly car and the like they completely and utterly fail at doing anything remotely better than a PC plus one day they will develop a malevolent sentience and take over the world

  number 98
March 3, 2009

i like the headphone jacks!
that way you dont have to bother people with your cellphone noise. and you dont have to carry around an ipod and a phone. you could just have a phone and listent ot music and all that:) i personally would to have this phone! andi dont think it will replace the computer. just wont happen:)

March 3, 2009

the black berry will most likley replace computers

  82
March 3, 2009

i already have a nice phone!

  84
March 3, 2009

I think that one day someone will be able to put all or most of the imformation that a computer holds, inside of a phone a small as a blackberry. They have already made it so that most phones can recieve internet access. I think that they could put much more in a phone than just internet in a few years.
I like the phone that i have currently.

March 3, 2009

I would not know how this phone works i have
heard that the phone works pretty well

  102
March 3, 2009

I like having a camera because i don’t want to carry a camera with me everywhere. I could live without a GPS I’ll use mapquest.

  16
March 4, 2009

I like how the blackberry has the power point and stuff. but I think that the keyboard is way to small for my big fingers. I always push more than one letterat a time an it’s really anoying!

  32
March 4, 2009

i love the blackberry it’s just like a computer and if it replaces the computer maybe my parents will get rid of hour computer and get me a blackberry :þ

  15 :::)
March 4, 2009

Also I don’t think the blackberry will replace the computer because it’s so small and the keyboard is so tiny that a person with big fingers wouldn’t be able to use it.

  16
March 4, 2009

i like the network it cool that you can go online if you want to anywhere on the phone. poerpoint is a waste of memorey. yes but computers will still be used

  12
March 4, 2009

#24, as much as your statements are true, im gonna have to disaggree… im almost positive that in the near future, people will find a way to put all the programs that are on the computer, on to a phone… altho many people will probably not be able to afford it, its worth a try, right?!

  26
March 4, 2009

I think the GPS is completaly usless sense I don’t trvale very much, but I’m sre other people travel. I think the fact that you have word powerpoint and excel on there is pretty cool.

  30
March 4, 2009

I like the feature with good picture because a lot of the old phones have really crapy pictures!!! you can see all the squares and it is really fuzzy!!!

  32
March 4, 2009

my dad was going to get either a blackberry or
an iphone but now with this new info i can tell
him to get a blackberry. but i really do like
that they now have word, excel, AND powerpoint! they probably wont replace the pc all the way but
cell phones will do there damage.

  21
March 4, 2009

i like the fact that it has powerpoint not word cuz i dont like it. i dont think that it will replace the normal pom
normal computer cuaz its to small to typ in

  § 28
March 4, 2009

I really like how the blackberry has word,
excel, and powerpoint.I also like how it has
the full keyboard. I think that phones like
this should be allowed at school. I also believe
that someday they will replace the computers we
have now.

  19
March 4, 2009

In my opinion i believe that phones like the
Blackberry will eventually replace the personal
computer because people will just want to start
carrying phones like these around, so they can
use them anywhere they want.

  13
March 4, 2009

#26, I dissagree with you because the screen is way to small and unless they could design something were the screen and key board is like a virtual screen that pops out like some thing on star wars, not very many people wouild like it because of the small screen. But if they designed a way that they could do that, it would be so cool!!!!!!!!!!!

  32
March 4, 2009

#14 you have a good point =)

  22
March 4, 2009

i agree with 19 on the school part

  § 28
March 4, 2009

#84, thats great and all but i dont see why. it is simply a stause mark as i stated earlier, i have a really cheap phone that i absolutly love, its got scratchs, and its about to fall apart. but having a nice phone is one of the many ways people say, “hey! im rich, i have a nice phon!” but i dont see why people do that. no offence was ment in this blog, and im not trying to be rude to those of you with nice phones or anything… its just my opinion on this particular subject. please let me know why those of you who have nice phones show them off.

  26
March 4, 2009

I seriosly agree with #32. Some old phones are really thick and you can hardly see the screen

  30
March 4, 2009

#17, i have the same thots… but i think its because people with out computers that do have phones can accesss the internet, and its a total bonus if you have a nice phone… -_-

  26
March 4, 2009

#30 i agree with you cause i dont have a phone
at all!!! and it annoys the heck out of me when all
my friends are like “oooooo! i got a cell phone!
and its ssssssssooooooooooooooo nice, and pretty,
and beautimus!!!” my friends dont actualy say that
but sometimes it feels that why. :(

  21
March 4, 2009

im sorry i saw the wrong #. i ment that i agree with
#26

March 4, 2009

Actually i have a cell phone and it’s pretty nice, but there are some disadvantages, for instance they can get held up for randsom when your parents want you to do something.

  30
March 4, 2009

okay phones like this are pretty cool but kids
our age dont need them! i know that i dont even have
enough time to even look at everything on this
phone! my phone is old but i only use it for
texting and calls and its perfect:)

  19
March 4, 2009

You are all in denial. The I-phone rules over all who believe the Blackberry is superior.

  43
March 4, 2009

i like my phone dawggg.
blackberries are ok if you are really busy.

  41
March 4, 2009

hey yall, i like the new blackberry strom, but i8 dont think that the computer will always be better than the blackberry. i dont think that the BERRY will evry replace anything but itself. heres why: the screen is way to small, and the buttons are to close together. for a chubby guy with sausage fingers thats pretty hard to type. if you disagree, well who cares. my vote gos towards the blackberry=)
