Do you agree with Bill Gates that you should “Keep your friends close and enemies closer?” Why would someone need to know not only who his or her enemies are but what they are doing? Is it a healthy attitude to assume that you have enemies? Why or why not? Can the concept of an “enemy” be useful? Why or why not? Provide an example of Apple or Microsoft employees either keeping friends or enemies close.

I don’t think it a healthy attitude to assume
you have enemies. You could become parinoid
and untrusting. That can hurt both you and
other people. Unless yuo have done somtething
really bad then you shouldn’t assume you have
enemies.

I think that it is a healthy habit to assume or recognize your enemies. At least it isn’t an unhealthy habit. because you have to be able to recognize a problem to deal with it, or in other words you have recognize your enemies to deal with them. ignorance is not bliss, it’s trouble.

They both are working to make the best computer. But the do not think that they are enemies. They are just competing to for the best computer.

I agree with Bill Gates comment. Someone would need to know that because than you can counter what ever they try to throw at you. Yes it is because if you don’t than you will get in trouble. Microsoft is keeping their enemys closer because they are starting to sell stuff to IBM.

I agree with Bill Gates that you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I do not agree though that this is a healthy attitude because enemies can make a person go mad. They are always trying to get back at the enemy and hating on them and that is not a good habit to develop. Microsoft seems to be keeping their enemies close.

I agree that you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer, because if you don’t know what your enemies are doing then you might get scammed or even lose friends because of the fact that your enemy said something to them about you that made them upset or something, and you didn’t know why your friend was mad, because you didn’t know what was happening.

Well, first, the quote is misleading. I believe it is suppose to be “We are here to make a dent in the universe or why else be here? We’re rewriting the history of human thought.” The 2 words “We are..” changes the whoole subject of what to agree or disagree on. So honestly, I can’t really answer whether I agree or disagree.
Steve Jobs made his dent in the universe by showing the world a new age of technology. Really, I think if he did not show people this, technology would not have advanced as quickly as it did. If I was in Mr. Jobs’ intellectual means, I would have probably strived for the same things he did, big and difficult obsticals.

I have actually thought for a long time on this
statement, even before I had watched this movie. I am not sure if I, personally, agree with this. I have come yo learn from personal expirance that keeping your enemies close can both be bad, and good. Some one should know who their enemies are because it will be helpful to know any stategic moves they may use, or tricks they could use because they very may use that against you, and you need to know what they are doing so you are able to know if a scandal is coming, and you should always be vigilant. It is healthy to assume you have enemies, because you always will. There will always be atleast one person against you, or competing. Apple is going to IBM to look at their compuiter technology, but they are not friends. Microsoft is also talking to people who are not at all considered “friends.”
