Yes I do think that Steve Jobs did make a dent in the univers because millions of people can use the things that he discoverd. Im not sure if i agree or disagree with the idea that unless you strive or big things in life, goals that make a dent in the universe because I havent been in a situation that causes me to agree or disagree with that.

I think Steve Jobs made a dent in the universe by creating a new form of communication. He has changed human thought by letting people know/ and proving/ that you can have a personal computer and changed the minds of people who originaly thought it was a stupid idea. If I had the financial and intellectual means of Mr. Jobs, I would put my money into something that i thought could really change/ “put a dent” in the universe. I dont agree with the idea that unless you are trying to make it big you shouldnt be here because all small things matter too.

I agree that the dent that Steve Jobs made in the universe was the revolution of personal computers. Steve Jobs created a computer that anybody could own and run, and this changed the world forever. Big companies like IBM aren’t the only ones with computers anymore; anyone can have their own computer. However, I disagree that you shouldn’t strive for big things because you might get let down. If Steve Jobs hadn’t tried so hard to bring people the personal computer just because he was afraid he would fail, where do you think we would be today? I don’t believe that if you don’t have a goal to make a dent in the universe that you shouldn’t exist. Many people have small goals, and that is enough for them. If everyone in the world was trying to meet a huge goal, this planet would be a rather crazy place.

Steve Jobs did make a dent in the universe, because he made it so that people, normal people, got access to computers. Most people say that it was just an impact upon the technological world, not the universe, but what would our lives be like without personal computers, or the mouse?Face it, computers are a big part of our lives these days. Without the computer, our way of life would be VERY different.
However, I don’t agree with Steve Jobs’ idea that unless you strive for big things in life, goals that make a dent in the universe, you shouldn’t exist. So many people go on with life without ever becoming a major influence in the universe. What that idea implies is that those people don’t matter to anyone. Those people still had a life; they still made an influence on someone. Big things aren’t the most important things to strive for. Sometimes, they’re not the RIGHT thing to strive for. Without the little goals, no one would ever have the drive to go for the big things. Everything comes in steps.

(First off,I agree with 223) In my opinion, I don’t neccessarily think that Steve Jobs even “made a dent in the universe”. It’s not like the whole entire universe has changed due to computers, I mean, granted, computers have made a very huge difference in most human’s everyday world, but not in the entire universe. And once more, I don’t agree with “rewritten human thought” I mean sure they broadened our minds in a big way, but is that really the correct term? Now I can tell you the way Steve Jobs broadened our minds, he helped us believe that anyone can do anything, even an ordinary guy like him, and showed us such a mysterious world of potential. If I had the means of Steve Jobs, I would use them by helping others in many ways, such as feeding the poor, raising awareness for diseases like AIDS, and doing helpful things for global warming. I sort of disagree with the “strive for big things….or no existence” idea, because I feel that without even trying people make even just the smallest dent in the universe, and sometimes, people do great things for others, and that doesn’t effect the universe. But, then again, everyone should try to make a difference, but just because they don’t, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t exist.
Now I also want to point out, just so you know I’m not praising Steve Jobs entirely, that I agree in some ways with 15. I feel that Steve Jobs may have been brilliant and impacted the world greatly, but he wasn’t exactly a team player. He didn’t care about really anyone but himself at one point, and he thought he was just so fantastic and smart, but look where that got him…fired. Now I realize he may have done some great things, but he did some bad things while he was at it too.

I don’t like Steve Jobs.

Steve Jobs definatly mad a dent in history with his introductionof the apple macintosh. People would not have been able to do simple things as they do today without the personal computer. Life would be a whole other story.

YES, I do think Steve Jobs made a dent in
the universe, because he helped
invent the computer and at first everybody
thought it was dumb.
Now everybody uses it.

I agree with 148. Steve Jobs did make a dent in the universe

I would not say the Steve Jobs made a dent in the universe for many reasons. Firstly, he didn’t do anything spctacular in the computer industry because Steve Wasniak really invented everything along with the computer and Bill Gates created Microsoft. Steve Jobs just took the credit for it. Come on. You don’t have to strive for big things in life you shouldn’t exist because really there are plenty of people who’ve done a lot of things who aren’t necessarily recognized!!!

I completely agree with 934. Normal people should have access to internet and other technology via computer. I also think that it should be easy enough to use so that all ages can use it. Whether you are a computer programmer yuppie or a senior just trying to google something or a teenager trying to check their myspace, you should be able to do it with ease and convinience.

Yes, i agree that you should keep your friends
close but your enemies closer. Well… if you
knew who your enemies were and what they are
doing you could have a good chance of avoiding
things they try to throw at you. I think it’s
healthy to know who your enemies are because
it makes someone aware of who could be a threat
to you. I really don’t think knowing the concept
of a enemie can be useful because its not like
your going to be going up to your enemie/enemies
and asking if they would work for you. Bill Gates
kept his friends close and his enemies ( one is
steve).

I think Steve Jobs made a dent in the universe because he made a new form of communication, and millions of other people could/can have used it.
