Unpacking Paradigms
A paradigm describes the set of experiences, beliefs and values that make up a person’s values or belief system. This belief system affects the way a person sees and responds to reality. For example, someone who believes that, “A good education will help me to achieve my goals and broaden my opportunities in life,” will most likely put more effort into his or her studies than someone who operates from a paradigm that, “Family or society will take care of me regardless of what I do on my own.”
In the article about cell phone addiction, identify at least one paradigm and share it in this blog. Do you agree or disagree with this paradigm? Name a paradigm that you operate from, whether it’s technology related or not.
